Search Hancock Traffic Cases

The official court file and certified copies remain with the Hancock County Circuit Court Clerk.
Traffic cases often search best by citation details. ePay supports case-number, party or business, and citation searches. Not every citation is ePay-eligible, and the ePay guide says the balance must be paid in full at least two days before the court date when using that payment path.

Hancock District Traffic Court
Hancock District Court sits at the Hancock County Judicial Center. The KCOJ local schedule lists District Court on the first and third Tuesday, with civil at 9 a.m., criminal at 9:30 a.m., and confidential matters at 11 a.m. Traffic cases are part of District Court's limited jurisdiction, along with misdemeanors, violations, juvenile matters, probate of wills, small claims, and civil cases up to $5,000.

Traffic Court Record Fields
A Hancock County traffic court record is the court case record for the citation. It is not the same as a state driver history record. Court traffic records can show the citation, charge, court date, plea, disposition, fine, costs, failure-to-appear indicator, payment-plan history, and court orders. Some traffic cases can also connect to criminal case records, especially DUI or misdemeanor traffic charges.

Hancock Traffic Fees Payments
KCOJ lists Hancock court payment methods as cash, money order, certified check, personal check from a local bank, and online ePay where eligible. ePay supports online card payment for eligible fines, costs, and payment plans. Cash payments must be made at the Circuit Clerk's office.

Copy fees for a specific certified court traffic record were not published in the official Hancock sources reviewed. Call the Circuit Court Clerk before mailing payment for copies.
Kentucky Points Suspensions School
Kentucky points are a driver-record consequence, not just a court-record line. KYTC says 12 points within two years for drivers 18 or older may lead to suspension, while 7 points within two years for drivers under 18 may lead to suspension. Points expire two years from conviction, but a conviction entry remains on the record for five years.

State Traffic School requires referral by the Kentucky District or Federal court where the violation occurred. The driver cannot be under suspension at citation time, minor traffic violations only are eligible, and the option is generally limited to once every 12 months. Out-of-state and non-licensed drivers are not eligible under the captured KYTC rules.

Traffic school attendance does not appear on the three-year public record but does appear on the five-year record used by law enforcement, courts, and agencies.
CDL DUI and Reinstatement
Commercial driver consequences can be different because CDL records, reporting, and eligibility limits may apply even when a ticket is local. The research did not locate a Hancock-specific CDL rule page, so CDL holders should confirm court and KYTC consequences before paying or requesting traffic school.
DUI and other criminal traffic cases can route into criminal court consequences, not just a traffic payment. The filed charges, plea, disposition, and sentence are part of the criminal case record, so a DUI search may also require the Hancock County criminal court records path.

Paying a reinstatement fee alone does not automatically restore driving privileges. The driver must confirm active license status through KYTC.
Access Limits for Traffic Records
Traffic court records are generally public when they are ordinary District Court case records, but the same Kentucky access limits can apply. Juvenile records are confidential under KRS 610.340, and open-records exemptions in KRS 61.878 can restrict certain information. Expungement under KRS 431.073 or KRS 431.076 may affect eligible criminal traffic records after the required legal process.
